In the interest of safety it occasionally becomes
necessary to close school prior to the regular dismissal time. This may be
due to heavy snow warnings, tornado alerts, or other causes. It may not be possible
to notify parents directly of the change in schedule because of the limited
telephone lines available, the number of students involved, and the number of
persons who must be notified in order to carry out the early dismissal. We share
parent's concern over young children going home at a time when no one is there
to receive them. Parents should complete and update, as necessary, the emergency contact form. In view of the situation, parents must inform their children
beforehand what to do in the event they are not at home. Parents are encouraged
to make arrangements with a friend or neighbor to care for their child.
